From the author
I did not write this guide from a position of calm. I wrote it after a long stretch of not having any. Anxiety was a daily presence. I could not start the things I knew I needed to do. I kept dreaming about a different life while my brain produced every reason not to attempt it.
What changed was not a single breakthrough. It was a slow accumulation of small mechanics. A distinction about control. A way of naming what I was feeling before it named me. A handful of non-negotiable daily anchors that kept me functional even when nothing around me was stable.
The frameworks in this guide are Stoic in origin but they are not historical curiosities. Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus built them because they needed them under genuine pressure. Plague, execution, enslavement. I adapted them for a world with push notifications instead of plagues. The problem is different in shape. The mechanism is the same.
If you have tried to think your way out of anxiety and found that it does not work, this guide gives you something more useful: a system for functioning through it instead.
Adrian Matousu
“You do not need the world to calm down before you get to feel steady. You need a baseline that does not depend on the world calming down.”
